There is wounding beyond words that still needs to be heard.
Ancestral resonances of repressed pain that need to be expressed.
Shadow frequencies of the collective that can be healed through resurrecting their sounds.
There are wounded ones within us that are too immense, too unbearable for our bodies to hold and heal on our own.
Not because we’re bad or incapable or need to get “better” at feeling our feelings.
It’s because the body has a brilliant survival strategy. To make the unbearable inaccessible.
So when a way too painful wound beyond words arises, the body tries to protect us through dissociation, dorsal vagal shut down, freeze response, compulsive flight and/or distraction.
The body is trying to protect us from the unbearable, and yet we’re unable to tend to the wounded parts that we know can only be healed through being felt, seen, and heard.
This is the intentional medicine of Singing Shadow Work Sound Healing.
To bring home the unbearable.
To be a sanctuary where we can lay down the story, set aside over-analyzing, stop trying to figure it out and just be and feel the intensities within that are asking for the alchemy of our presence in a way thats tolerable to the nervous system.
A brave space in which we can be held as we build capacity to meet the parts within us that are ready and waiting to come back home to our holy wholeness.

About Alli
Alli Caw (they/them, she/her) is a vocal alchemist, song bird, voice doula + somatic coach, an oracle and vessel for love, a voice + womb weaver and a silly goose inciting play + shameless self-expression in devotion to the soul's embodied becoming. Everything Alli serves sits on the altar of our collective liberation.
For over a decade Alli has been uncovering the Singing Shadow Work transmission that emerged through the process of their own healing journey. The roots of this living body of work lie in the vocal lineages of Alfred Wolfsohn + Roy Hart which Alli studied at Naropa University for their MFA in Contemporary Performance.

What to expect:
Alli will begin with a short introduction to Singing Shadow Work and how it came to be.
You'll build a cozy nest for yourself to soften into and receive.
We'll ground into the body and breath and call in allies to journey with us through a guided somatic meditation and protection prayer.
A Singing Shadow Work sound healing journey, channeling our wounded shadows with the Dark Mother's infinite capacity to love all parts within us.
We’ll close with time to rest, journal or share to integrate your experience.
Singing Shadow Work was birthed through honoring these SONIC PRINCIPLES:
1.The human voice is alive.
A living being in its own right, with its own will, intelligence and desire. I am not singing, the voice and the energies it is channeling, are singing me.
2. All voiced sounds are equal and Welcome.
I'm setting fire to the aesthetic hierarchy that preferences pleasing, pretty, palatable and soothing sounds above all others and welcoming home the broken sound beings who have long been exiled.
3. Every Voiced sound is a form of singing
Including the cracked, wailing, chorded, broken and ugly ones we’ve been trained to avoid and/or keep quiet. Crying is a form of singing. Growling and crackling a song of their own.
4.Every voiced sound is a vibrational embodiment of our inner parts.
Every sound you have or have yet to make is an aspect of your soul/psyche. When we shut off certain sounds, when we shame and silence them, we exile parts of our own humanity that are sacred and vital to our divine wholeness.
This is why welcoming all sounds is essential. And how through viewing all sounds as a form of singing we expand our tolerance for the sounds in us that are unpleasant and uncomfortable.

How SINGING SHADOW WORK Came to be…
It feels important to name that this is an ancient, primordial practice that was remembered rather than learned or developed. While in the midst of a dark night of the soul, when wounded parts started to surface and overwhelm, Alli was guided to sound them, to let them sing her.
As Alli channeled the repressed and unsung shadows within her, another voice would come through in response. A voice of unyielding beauty and unconditional love. The voice of the Divine/Dark Mother would enfold, mix and merge with these wounded parts. Back and forth they would sing together, harmonizing repressed wails and broken sound beings with operatic and angelic frequencies.
Again and again what Alli experienced was an emergence of sonic transmutation, a vocal alchemy. A felt sense of all parts of their messy and imperfect humanness being worthy of love. A greater willingness to be with the shadows within who can only be healed through being witnessed. An expanded capacity to embrace and express our repressed pain as sacred and transformational.
